Baboons
Another National Trust commission, this time something slightly
unusual. Cliveden House in Buckinghamshire was the setting for my
latest job-the returning of two 2000 year old stone Egyptian Baboon
statues to an area in the Long Garden.
When i got there the Cliveden Conservation team was in the early stage of building the supports for the statues-my job was to document the move and erection of the Baboons onto the plinths. I took many images of the Conservation team working and some general images of the site first. After the first statue was in place i could get some images of the team members and also Egyptologist Wendy Monkhouse.

Silent Blockade
Silent Blockade are: Chris Oblein - Guitar and
Lead Vocals, John Harmsworth - Lead Guitar, Chris Samson - Guitar
and Backing Vocals, Greg Forys - Bass, Tim Doyle - Drums,
together they play guitar driven, melodic rock.
I had the pleasure to photograph them at an Arts Centre for some
general images of the band for flyers or CD covers, they were a
great bunch of lads who didn't mind being photographed in all sorts
of locations ranging from a damp cellar corridor to an all white
room. All of the locations needed flash of some kind, i used just one light for the corridor images and up to three lights for the images in the white room, as a Professional Photographer, you need to know how to use light as some images would just not exist without it.

Harley Davidson
Paul wanted some images of his beloved custom Harley, so we headed
off in the early summer evening to a business park in quiet corner
of Reading.
I got some images of just the bike then I put Paul in the frame
for an image that has a portrait look. A couple of flashes and
a cooled down ambient light makes the bike really pop from the
background. We were lucky to find a recently laid tarmac road
for some of the shots to serve as a nice dark background. I made
a large poster for him as a memento of Paul and his ‘Hog’

Kyle
I am always interested in shooting athletes; maybe it’s due
to their inherent confidence that they must have to enable them
to achieve at the highest level
Kyle had a very confident, almost relaxed look to him when I photographed
him at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre near Eton in Berkshire
on a sunny Sunday morning.
I moved Kyle into the shade then lit him with a flash in various
positions with one of the hurdles. Here is one of the images mocked
up for a double page spread for a Sunday supplement magazine, you
may hear more about him in 2010!

Trove Fashion
The Trove clothes shop in Windsor wanted some images to showcase
their clothes earlier this year so we all trooped over to The Forbury
Hotel in Reading for the shoot.
The Forbury Hotel kindly lent us their top floor suite to shoot
in, and we also used a few rooms near the Lobby and outside the
main entrance. We managed to shoot 4 or 5 changes of clothes in
the day and the images were printed very large so they can be put
up in the shop and the main window, so if your in Windsor pop in
and take a look!

Rev Mary Barnes
These are some portraits of the Rev Mary Barnes in her Church
in Windsor.
She doesn’t look like the normal female stereotype Reverend,
she was far too glamorous. I managed to balance the light coming
through the stained glass window with a flash to take some environmental
portraits.

Ilda DiVico
Ilda is a Couture Milliner based in Bagshot, she supplies hats to
the rich and famous. She wanted some press images for an article
about her in a magazine so we went to Ascot Racecourse with about
10 hats and a willing model. I took a number of images of the model
in various hats and poses, and a few of Ilda herself.

Lee's Harley Fatboy
Lee wanted some images of his Harley as well as himself and his wife with the bike, so i found a location in Windsor Geat Park for the first shot, then we moved location to an underpass in Windsor for the second.I lit the bike with one large flash and a smaller flash for a back light for great effect. He was really pleased with the results.

Puppini Sisters
This group is an amazing act, singing well known songs but in their
very distinctive style. I set up just one light, literally minutes
before they were due on stage and they managed a few poses for me.
I got some more images later of them performing on stage.

Mary, Queen of Shops
Mary Portas stars in a programme for the BBC that revamps failing
high street businesses. She goes in and uses her retail knowledge
to turn the business around.
I covered one show in a clothes shop in Ascot called ‘The
Fit’. I had to dodge the cameras as I took pictures of Mary
talking to camera and interacting with all the guests. I had a very
short time for a portrait of Mary as the filming schedule was very
hectic that night and I got some great images of the evening for
the magazine.

Magic Circus
I recently went to Kingston College to take some portrait images
of perfomers in a circus/magic show for Totally Magazine. I met
some interesting characters and managed to get some great expressions
out of them, it’s always a pleasure to photograph performers
and actors because they know how to express themselves with confidence
which makes my job a lot easier, especially when time is short as
it was on this occasion.

Venice
Venice are a fantastic band from California.
I was asked to photograph them for Totally Magazine at The Old Fire
Station in Windsor. They are a mix of Brothers, Uncles and Cousins
that have played together for years.
I did a few portraits before they went on stage, by lighting the
curtain behind them and then the musicians themselves as it was
very dark in that part of the venue, followed by some images of
them performing.

Royal Ascot Aston Martin
During the build up to the Royal Meeting at Ascot Racecourse this
year I was asked to produce some PR images of the Chief Executive
Charles Barnett with some employees in their finest Royal fashions
with a rather beautiful Aston Martin.
After moving the car a few times to cut out any distractions i took
some images of Mr Barnett and the Aston Martin, we then took the
car to the Sovereign’s Gate to produce a great image with
the Chief Executive, some of the employees and of course the Aston
with the Racecourse Grandstand behind them.
